Youth Prevention Leaders

Youth Leading Positive Change

Young people are some of the most powerful agents of change in our community.
The Stoughton OASIS / MassCALL3 Youth Prevention Leaders program empowers high school students from
Stoughton, Easton, Avon and Norwood to build leadership skills, strengthen their voices, and create a healthier
future for their peers in their own communities and throughout the region.

Rather than focusing on problems, Youth Prevention Leaders focus on possibilities. Using local data,
prevention science, and positive youth development practices, students learn how to identify community strengths,
promote healthy norms, and develop projects that make a meaningful difference in Stoughton, Easton,
Avon and Norwood..

Participants have opportunities to:

  • Build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Learn about substance misuse prevention and public health

  • Explore local youth data and use it to drive positive action

  • Plan and lead community awareness campaigns and events

  • Advocate for healthy environments and positive policy change

  • Serve as ambassadors for healthy choices among their peers

  • Complete community service and leadership projects

  • Connect with community leaders and prevention professionals

Through hands-on experiences, Youth Prevention Leaders discover that leadership is about service, collaboration, and
creating opportunities for others to succeed.
