Stoughton High Students
There are lots of opportunities to get involved with our work in lots of different ways. Here are a few examples:
-Stoughton Leadership Institute (SLI) : A Leadership + Volunteer focused after school club run by our Americorps Fellow. The Fellow can assist students in any after school plans including help with college search, scholarship opportunities, FAFSA, Career search and more. During the year the fellow holds multiple meetings about social justice, college and career readiness, leadership styles, and many more topics. With more questions please reach out to the Prevention Department: spatton@stoughton-ma.gov
-Norfolk DA Peer Leaders - A group of student leaders, selected by SHS to represent SHS on the DA Peer Leadership Team. This group meets at least monthly to attend workshops and plan community service events. There are 2 off-campus in person events each year with other students from across the County: a kick off breakfast in the Fall and a Peer Leadership Conference at Gillette in the Spring. Reach out to your High School administrators for more info.
-Prevention Leaders (paid and volunteer opportunities) - Get directly involved in the prevention work though paid and unpaid experiences. This work involves supporting current strategies and outreach opportunities, providing feedback on future and ongoing strategies, collecting health related data to inform strategies and more. We will train you! Reach out to Tanaesha King, Regional Prevention Coordinator with intent. tking@stoughton-ma.gov
